From a commenter on Reddit, summarizing one of my pet peeves re: internet punctuation:

Now everybody go surf comments on the internet and count the incidents of apostrophe abuse (Bless the creator of that site!).
It's like English speakers are trying to make the apostrophe the new umlaut or accent grave.
Sheesh.
